The Words I Needed to Hear (So I Wrote Them Down)
There was a time when I couldn’t seem to hold anything. Not a routine. Not a plan. Not even myself.
I kept trying to “get it together” with fancy planners and colour-coded calendars, but the kind that expected me to function like a robot, not a human with feelings and executive dysfunction. They weren’t made for brains like mine. And every time I couldn’t keep up, I thought I was the problem. But what I really needed wasn’t more structure.
I needed kindness. A softer voice. A gentler way.
Something that didn’t make me feel like I was always failing.
So I started writing little notes to myself. Small reminders I could cling to on the hard days. Quiet truths that helped me feel less lost.
Words like:
✨ You’re still worthy, even on the messy days
✨ Start again, slowly
✨ Rest is allowed
At first, it was just a few scribbles. Then it became a ritual. A practice. A permission slip to be human. And slowly, those reminders turned into something I could hold, and something I could share.
