Fear Released is an experimental video and soundscape that explores the contrast between anxiety-inducing environments and the refuge of nature. Created by Amie Dodgson (Wild Mind Studios), the piece layers mechanical city noise with calming natural imagery, creating a space for emotional release and mindful presence.
Best experienced outdoors with headphones.

  • This piece began during a visit to London, where I experienced intense sensory overwhelm — the kind that builds quietly until your whole body feels wired. I created Fear Released as a way to process that overload, combining the harsh rhythms of the city with the soft refuge of the natural world.

It’s designed to be experienced in nature: through headphones, in solitude. The audience stands still, hearing the chaos of traffic, industry, and dissonance, while visually surrounded by trees, grass, sky. The clash between external calm and internal tension evokes a powerful shift in awareness.

  • Sensory overload · Nature as refuge · Anxiety · Emotional release · Sound and perception
