The Human Behind the Brand

BRAND DESIGNER, PHOTOGRAPHER, SQUARESPACE SPECIALIST & CREATIVE STUDIO FOUNDER - BASED IN WIVENHOE, ESSEX.

Hey, I'm Amie

Maker of brands that mean something. Chaser of golden hour light. Lover of a misty morning on the river, a good cup of matcha, and music that makes the hairs on your arms stand up.

I'm a designer, photographer, and Squarespace specialist who builds brand worlds for wellness, beauty, and creative businesses - the kind that feel like you, not like a template someone else already used.

Where I came from

I've been working with images for over 16 years - long before I knew what brand design even was. I studied Fine Art at The Arts University, Bournemouth, then spent years as a wedding coordinator and events operations manager, and somewhere in between all of that, I fell in love with the way visual storytelling could make people feel something before they'd read a single word.

I came to brand design through photography first. I understood light, composition, mood - and I realised that those same instincts applied to logos, colour palettes, and the way a website made someone feel when they landed on it.

That background gives me something a lot of designers don't have: I don't just build brands that look good in isolation. I build brands that photograph beautifully, sit right on a website, and translate across every touchpoint - because I've worked across all of them.

Why Wild Mind Studios exists

For a long time I was doing bits of everything for everyone - photographs here, a logo there, a website for a friend. Good work, but scattered and no through-line.

The turning point came when I realised the businesses I felt most drawn to weren't just selling products or services. They were building worlds - a feeling, an atmosphere and a reason to stay. The ones doing it badly weren't lacking talent, they were lacking a brand that actually reflected who they were.

Wild Mind Studios exists for those businesses. The ones with a real story to tell. The ones who know their work is good but can't quite get that across visually.

Outside the studio

I live in Wivenhoe - a small, quietly magical village on the Essex coast, with my lovely husband Matt.

Life here looks like morning walks along the estuary, afternoons with a camera, evenings that always end up involving a good series, a romantasy novel, or something sweet.

I'm deeply rooted in nature, in creativity and in the kind of slow attention that good work requires. I'm also a Reiki practitioner, a lover of traditional art mediums, and someone who does yoga with the best of intentions - just not quite as often as I probably should.

I don't think you need to know all of that to hire me. But I do think the kind of work I make is shaped by all of it - by someone who pays close attention, who finds meaning in small things, and who genuinely cares about getting it right.
