The Journal

THOUGHTS, STORIES AND STUDIO NOTES FROM WILD MIND STUDIOS, Wivenhoe, essex.

Welcome to the Wild Mind Journal

This is a space for honest thoughts on branding, design, and what it really takes to build a creative business that feels like you.

I'm Amie - artist, photographer, and brand designer based in the quietly magical village of Wivenhoe, Essex. This journal is where I share the things that don't quite fit into a service page - the process, the thinking, the behind the scenes, and the messy, beautiful reality of building something from scratch.

Here you'll find brand tips, design inspiration, and behind the scenes of studio life alongside honest reflections on creativity, slow living, and doing things differently. I'm also late-diagnosed AuDHD, and some of what I write here explores that too - the way it shapes how I work, how I think, and how I've learned to build a business that actually works for my brain rather than against it.

Written for wellness, beauty, and creative business owners who are ready to show up more intentionally online - and for anyone who just loves a good read with a matcha in hand.

Pull up a chair. Stay a while.

Walking Into the Light: A Solstice Reflection

We climbed Glastonbury Tor for last year’s Summer Solstice and watched the sunrise with a crowd of strangers who somehow felt like community. This year, we’re swapping hills for cliffs and spending the solstice (and our wedding anniversary) in the Isle of Skye. A quiet moment to honour the light — and everything it’s helped us grow through.

5 Ways to Support Focus as a Neurodivergent Creative

Feeling scattered? This one’s for the neurodivergent creatives, ADHD wanderers and wildly brilliant minds that don’t do “linear.”

In my latest blog, I’m sharing 5 gentle ways to support focus without shame, burnout or forcing yourself into a routine that never fit in the first place.

From soft mornings to dopamine pairings and learning your own rhythm — these are the tools I use when my brain’s got 37 tabs open (and at least 3 are playing music somewhere).
